The Chemical Pinching Effect of Fatty Acid Esters on Various Useful Plants

Abstract
A chemical pinching agent at varied levels, OFF-SHOOT-O, was sprayed on actively growing plants, and necrotic drying at only the growing-point tissues was observed for most plants examined while some did not show such influence (probably due to thicker cuticule cell wall).
Plants with the chemical treatment were not quite delayed for the flowering, although showed certain extent of dwarfing. Chemically pinched stems usually produced two or three lateral branchings as in the case of hand pinching.
Fifty some plant species presently grown in Korea were subjected to these studies for chemical pinching effectiveness and were found to show as effective practice as hand pinching.
